Quienes Somos

El Instituto Doctor Carlos Ybar pertenece al Servicio Médico Legal del Ministerio de Justicia del Gobierno de Chile.

Nuestro Objetivo es potenciar la investigación, la docencia y la especialización de los peritos forenses. El área de Docencia, creada para estos fines, se hizo pequeña para la gran demanda que existe hoy en día debido a una mayor población a lo largo del país. Para dar respuesta a esta necesidad, en Septiembre del año 2008, nace el Instituto Doctor Carlos Ybar, designando a la profesional que dirige actualmente este instituto, la Doctora Gianna Gatti Orellana, con el Cargo de Secretaria Ejecutiva.

Para cumplir con nuestro objetivo, el instituto coopera a las cátedras de la medicina legal de las escuelas de ciencias médicas, jurídicas y sociales, a través de convenios con distintas universidades y otras instituciones, donde el Instituto Dr. Carlos Ybar logra ser un gran aporte al desarrollo de la Medicina Legal y la Ciencia Forense de nuestro país.
